    1102  CEMatilda (1102-1167), the daughter of Henry I and Edith of Scotland, was born. Henry I was acknowledged as being the father of over twenty children.
   Jan 1114  CEMatilda, daughter of English King Henry I, marries Holy Roman Emperor Henry V.
  1 May 1118  CEQueen Matilda, wife of Henry I, dies.
    1125  CEMatilda returned to England after the death of her husband Emperor Henry V.
   Jan 1127  CEBarons swear allegiance to Matilda
    1128  CEMatilda marries Geoffrey Plantagenet, Count of Anjou.

   Jun 1141  CEMatilda enters London to be crowned the first queen of England, but the people of London rebelled and she was forced to flee from the area.
 14 Sep 1141  CEMatilda's forces were routed at Winchester. Stephen's army captured Matilda's half-brother, Robert of Gloucester. An exchange of prisoners was agreed, and Stephen obtained his freedom resuming his position as King.
    1142  CEHenry II spends a year in England.
    1145  CEStephen takes Farringdon Castle
    1147  CEHenry arrives in England with a small army intending to attack Stephen. He and his mecenary army are paid off by Stephedn and Henry returned to Normandy.
    1147  CEPevensey Castle siege
    1147  CERobert, Earl of Gloucester died, leaving Matilda without one of her powerfull allies.
   Feb 1148  CEMatilda leaves England and retires to Normandy near Rouen to watch over her eldest son, Henry II.
 22 May 1149  CEHenry II is knighted by David I.
    1150  CEHenry II becomes Duke of Normandy.

   Sep 1151  CEGeoffrey dies
   May 1152  CEHenry II marries Eleanor.
   Jan 1153  CEHenry II invades England.
 17 Aug 1153  CEStephen's son Eustace dies, leaving Stephen without an heir.
  6 Nov 1153  CETreaty of Wallingford. Queen Matilda reliquishes her claim to the throne on condition that her son Henry II became heir. It was witnessed by the English Knights Templar Master.
 25 Oct 1154  CEKing Stephen of England dies of a heart attack.
 19 Dec 1154  CEHenry II of the Angevin dynasty was crowned King of England.
  9 Sep 1157  CERichard I is born at at Beaumont Palace in Oxford.
